“The Bachelorette” reality star and aviation attorney Tayshia Adams and Nick Chu sent a hasty parting shot at each other in their first public statements since their abrupt breakup.
“We have not officially ended our relationship,” the pair said in an interview with TMZ. “As we move forward with our lives, we will continue to stay good friends and enjoy each other’s company.”
After Adams and Chu became the first two contestants to receive marriage proposals during the show’s season 12 finale, Adams told The Washington Post that she was in an off-and-on relationship with Chu but had gone back to living on her own in Arlington.
“I’m dating Zac Clark right now, and I’m working hard on myself,” she said, declining to share more details about his identity.
In the “The Bachelorette” finale, Adams met her future husband and gave her final rose to the season winner, businessman Nick Viall. In a few short months, Adams and Chu rekindled their romance. Chu proposed to Adams again, with whom he reunited during the season 13 premiere in April.
“Things didn’t end exactly how we would have liked,” said Adams’s publicist, Nicki Jacobs, when reached on Monday by the Washington Post.
The two will no longer remain fans of the show, according to TMZ.
Adams’s endgame and career as a lawyer have put her outside the “Bachelorette” viewer’s box. But she said in the final season premiere that she still wanted to settle down with someone, marry, and build a family.
