Former Special Prosecutor, Martin A.B.K Amidu has warned government against the onslaught on his integrity insisting his response will be unpalatable and damaging.
“As a citizen of Ghana, I’m entitled to say my mind and defend the constitution. The fact that you’re in govermment doesn’t mean that when you’re dissatisfied with a report you go after the person of the fellow…Let’s stop it and I say let’s stop it before we wash dirty linens in public.” he told Accra-based Citi Fm Thursday.
His comments come after Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, alleged that Mr. Amidu had medical records from Germany which he has been concealing.
But Amidu in a rebuttal on the matter said there have been machinations to denigrate him over his work on the Agyapa Royalties deal, insisting that Ken Agyapong’s claims made against him are no exception.
Meanwhile, Martin Amidu has asked Ghanaians to hold President Akufo-Addo responsible if he’s harmed in any way.
Mr. Amidu who announced his resignation on Monday citing many reasons including interference with his work by the President claims he’s reported threats of death on his life to the National Security Minister.
“I tried to call Kan Dapaah, he didn’t pick it and I got a former national security advisor to contact him and tell him that, and I know the persons involved, I can name them but I reserve it for the meantime. I put my life for the republic of Ghana and the president will be responsible for anything that happens to me.
